Milwaukee Drill August 20, 2010 Michael A. David (st. Louis) It does not have as much power as I would have liked, but it does almost everything I want it to.
Highly Flexible Tool July 26, 2010 PoliSciProf (San Francisco) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good tool. Plenty power for around the house requirements. Horribly deficient use directions. At this price it should come WITH basic bits.
Handy tool with plenty or torque but misleading directions June 10, 2010 James O. Mccorison 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace my venerable Makita 9v right angle. I find it to be much nicer, and in a way, I'm glad I lost the Makita. I'm a marine electrician which means that I'm frequently working in confined spaces with little or no light. The led light on this is a real blessing. The chuck works great and grips bits snugly. The motor has plenty of torque, as long as you have realistic expectations. It isn't intended to replace a high voltage 1/2" drill. So use it for what it is intended for and I think you'll be very pleased.
I have only a couple of criticisms. The first is that, like other reviewers, I find the electronic torque adjustment to be less than ideal. Basically I don't trust it and if something needs fine torque control I'll do the final snugging up by hand.
The second problem is the lack of documentation about the led light and overload indicator. The product description states that the drill has led illumination lights, plural. The drill appears to have two leds on the underside behind the chuck. However only one led lit up. Thinking I had a defective unit, I sent it back to Amazon for replacement. (Huge kudos to Amazon in that they cross shipped the replacement unit!) When the replacement drill showed the same symptom I call Milwaukee tech support. It turns out that there is only one white illumination led. The second led is a red one the only lights if you overload the drill. Proper documentation would have saved me grief and Amazon and Milwaukee money.
question about the led June 4, 2010 A ROD When i look at the drill it looks as if it has 2 led bulbs. But only one on the left side (tool facing you) works when you press the trigger. Has anyone else noticed this has only 1 light. I called Milwauke and they showed me the wire diagram and they say it only has 1 bulb..
Perfect for Hard to Reach Places! May 25, 2010 Mykola (Philadelphia, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this tool for one purpose and that was to use it in hard to reach and tight squeeze type places that a regular drill driver cannot get into. It does that job and then some. It has a good amount of tourque for a tool of its size and it's battery lasts a fairly long time. The last part about the battery life actually surprised me. I didn't expect it to last half as long as it does. Back to the use of the tool, it's got a good feel to it and the weight is pretty well balanced. I also dropped it from a 6 foot ladder and it didn't crack or cause any damage. I prefer not to repeat that bit but just thought I would pass it on!! Overall, I would easily hands down recommend this little drill/driver as the perfect complement to your regular full size unit.
